Tension prevailed in Chamanabani village under the Kulpi police station area of South 24 Parganas after a late-night bomb blast targeted the car of a Trinamool Congress booth president. The explosion took place inside a garage, triggering panic among residents and raising serious security concerns in the locality.
The blast occurred late at night when a bomb exploded in the car of TMC booth president Kutubuddin Paik. The loud explosion shook the surrounding area, forcing nearby residents to rush out of their homes to assess the situation. The impact of the blast damaged the vehicle and also caused damage to several nearby houses. Kutubuddin Paik alleged that rival miscreants were behind the attack. He claimed that his house had earlier been targeted in a bomb attack late at night and that this time a time bomb was planted in his car before being detonated. The incident has further heightened tension in the village.
Police from Kulpi police station reached the spot soon after the explosion and seized the damaged vehicle. Based on a complaint filed in connection with the incident, police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible and ascertain the motive behind the attack.
